Our Commitment to Accessibility
Arapaima Artificer LLC is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We believe that the web should be available to everyone, and we continually work to improve the accessibility of our website to ensure we provide equal access to all users.
Accessibility is not just a legal requirement—it's fundamental to good design. As a creative and technical studio, we strive to practice what we preach: creating digital experiences that are usable, inclusive, and well-crafted for everyone.
Accessibility Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. These guidelines, developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities.
The WCAG guidelines are organized around four principles, which state that web content must be:
- Perceivable: Users must be able to perceive the information being presented (it can't be invisible to all of their senses)
- Operable: Users must be able to operate the interface (the interface cannot require interaction that a user cannot perform)
- Understandable: Users must be able to understand the information and the operation of the user interface
- Robust: Content must be robust enough to be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies
For more information about WCAG, visit the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).
Accessibility Measures We've Taken
Arapaima Artificer LLC takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of our website:
Technical Implementation
- Semantic HTML: We use proper HTML5 semantic elements (header, nav, main, article, section, footer) to provide meaningful structure
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard, with visible focus indicators
- Skip Links: A "skip to main content" link is provided to bypass repetitive navigation
- ARIA Labels: We use ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attributes where appropriate to enhance accessibility for assistive technologies
- Alt Text: All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text; decorative images are marked appropriately
- Color Contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast ratio requirements (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Resizable Text: Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- Responsive Design: The site adapts to different screen sizes and orientations
- Form Accessibility: Form inputs have associated labels, and error messages are clearly communicated
- Reduced Motion: We respect the "prefers-reduced-motion" user preference and disable animations when requested

Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, we acknowledge that some areas may have limitations:
Current Known Issues
- Portfolio Images: Some portfolio project images are primarily visual in nature. We provide context through surrounding text, but the full visual experience may not be fully conveyed through alt text alone. We are working on providing more detailed descriptions.
- Third-Party Content: Some embedded content from third-party services (such as video players or social media widgets, if applicable) may not be fully accessible. We choose third-party tools with accessibility in mind when possible.
- PDF Documents: If we provide downloadable PDFs in the future, we will work to ensure they are accessible or provide alternative formats.
Ongoing Improvements
We are continuously working to improve accessibility. Current priorities include:
- Enhanced image descriptions for portfolio work
- Regular accessibility audits
- Expanding testing with additional assistive technologies
Legal and Regulatory Compliance
This accessibility statement applies to arapaimaartificer.com.
We aim to comply with:
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA): Title III, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in places of public accommodation
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1: Level AA conformance
- Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act: Where applicable
